Mr. Warren Lee (Visiting Head Instructor)

Mr. Warren Lee started training in Tae Kwon-do in 1973 and has been teaching martial arts since 1980.  He began learning Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 2003 under UFC Champion and Hall of Famer Royce Gracie.  Soon after, Dragon Martial Arts Academy became the first Royce Gracie Affiliate school in Canada.  During this time Mr. Lee has built a great friendship with Professor Royce Gracie and is following the true Gracie Jiu-Jitsu system as it was meant to be taught to the world. 

In 2017, Mr. Lee received his Black Belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu; and in 2021, was promoted to the rank of Professor by Royce Gracie.

Mr. Derek Hall (Lead Instructor)

Mr. Derek Hall began training at Kwon's Tae Kwon-Do in Port Alberni, B.C. under the instruction of Mr. Warren Lee in September of 1997.  In the year 2000, the Port Alberni branch of Kwon's Tae Kwon-Do was re-branded as Dragon Martial Arts Academy.  

In 2002, Mr. Hall became the first student of Mr. Lee to be promoted to the rank of Black Belt under the school's new name.  Mr. Hall went on to obtain the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt under Mr. Lee in 2009.
